Creation of an archival box containing the files of the six photographed models.

This artistic research and creation project, developed in collaboration with École des Ponts, brings together knowledge production and artistic creation based on historical archives, models, and technical documents.

It explores different forms of artistic and curatorial restitution, notably:

• the creation of artist’s photographic books from models, plans, and archival documents;

• the production of autonomous works (installations, images, devices), conceived as sensitive extensions of the archives, capable of circulating outside the museum context;

• the design of a physical and digital museography, including tools for consulting and visualizing archives, alongside a reflection on contemporary uses of immersive technologies.

Within this framework, Florence Cardenti was commissioned to design photographic imagery of the models, plans, maps, archives, and the current territory.

Her work involved both the creation of artworks (artist’s books, autonomous images) and the artistic documentation of the processes of conception, transformation, and transmission of the projects linked to the former model gallery of École des Ponts, which closed in 1954.

This project illustrates a practice situated at the intersection of institutional commission, artistic research, and archival work, developed in close dialogue with researchers and heritage institutions.
