This artistic research and creation project was developed from the photographic archive of the Alpine Club of Innsbruck (Alpenverein), comprising more than 40,000 images of mountain and high-mountain environments.
Within this framework, Florence Cardenti was invited to conduct a process of research, selection, and visual interpretation of archival materials, with particular attention paid to images originating from scientific studies, measurement devices, and early forms of cartographic representation of the Alpine territory.
Her intervention brings together archival reproduction and photography, the recomposition of historical devices (stereoscopy, photogrammetry), and the creation of artworks and installations derived from these historical materials.
The works produced as part of this project were presented in the exhibition Genau Jetzt at Galerie In Situ (Innsbruck, 2023).
